SK C&C to Recruit '2022 Seed Trainees' for Training Young Disabled ICT Professionals
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] SK㈜ C&C announced on the 11th that it is recruiting trainees for the youth disabled ICT expert training program, the ‘2022 SIAT (Smart IT Advanced Training·씨앗) Program.’
SIAT is a ‘Youth Disabled ICT Expert Training and Employment Support Program’ operated by SK C&C in collaboration with the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled’s Pangyo Digital Training Center. A total of 23 major companies, including SK C&C, SK Shieldus, Lotte Data Communication Company, Hana Financial TI, and Hyundai IT&E, have formed the ‘SIAT Alliance’ to support curriculum design and employment. The training is completely free of charge.
The training courses being recruited this time are ‘Software Developer Position,’ ‘Software Test Engineer Position,’ and ‘Management Office Support Position.’
The Software Developer course consists of various practical IT development projects focused on real corporate field experience. The Software Test Engineer course provides SW testing theory education and practical training, as well as support for obtaining testing certifications such as ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) and CSTS (Certified Software Test Specialist). The Management Office Support course includes training for acquiring computer accounting certifications such as Hangul, Word, PowerPoint (PPT), and Excel.
Anyone registered as a disabled person under the Disabled Welfare Act with a high school diploma or higher can apply.
Applicants can download the application form from the training information section on the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled’s Work Together portal and submit their documents via the provided email address.
The application deadline is the 23rd of this month, with interviews scheduled for the 26th and 27th, and successful candidates will be announced on the 28th.
Successful applicants will receive specialized job training for 5 to 6 months from February to August at the Pangyo Digital Training Center located in Pangyo Techno Valley, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.
After completing each job training course, trainees will undergo recruitment processes by SIAT participating companies in August, be hired as contract workers, and then converted to full-time employees.

In addition to full tuition support, SIAT provides ▲training allowances ▲dormitories for trainees from distant areas ▲lunch ▲accident insurance ▲individual laptops ▲support for textbooks and certification exam fees ▲commuting vehicles to Pangyo Station, enabling youth with disabilities nationwide to receive training without any burden.
