Seoul City Supports Purchase Costs for Urinary and Fecal Absorption Products for People with Brain Lesions... Expanding Beneficiaries
Support for up to 1,400 Severe Brain Lesion Disabled Persons Aged 3 to 64 Living in Seoul
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City, which has been supporting the purchase of urinary and fecal incontinence products (diapers) for people with brain lesions since 2018, will expand the age criteria for eligible recipients this year as it did last year, aiming to support more individuals.
According to Seoul City on the 11th, starting from the 1st, the city plans to support 1,400 people with brain lesions aged 3 to 64 who regularly use urinary and fecal incontinence products.
Those selected as beneficiaries can receive 50% of the purchase cost of urinary and fecal incontinence products (up to 50,000 KRW per month). After being selected, submitting receipts for the purchase of these products monthly or every 2 to 3 months allows recipients to receive 50% of the purchase amount, up to 50,000 KRW, directly into their personal accounts.
This expansion of the age criteria for support is the result of an early implementation of the expansion of purchase cost support for urinary and fecal incontinence products for people with brain lesions, which is one of the detailed projects within the master plan for supporting people with brain lesions.
Applications for support can be made through the Seoul Association of Welfare Centers for the Disabled or 24 designated welfare centers for the disabled. Detailed information including required documents can be found on the Seoul Association of Welfare Centers for the Disabled website.
In particular, Seoul City is assisting applicants who find it difficult to obtain the Activities of Daily Living (ADL) assessment certificate from hospitals due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation by allowing applications with all other required documents except the ADL assessment certificate.
