"Secretly Vaccinated Under Pressure and Passed Away"... Citizens Outraged Over Quarantine Pass
"My 8th Grade Daughter with Pneumothorax... Should She Get the Vaccine?" Petition Also Raised
[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] The story has emerged of a woman in her 60s who developed blood clots after receiving the AstraZeneca (AZ) COVID-19 vaccine and died after undergoing a second Pfizer vaccination in an effort to comply with the vaccine pass (quarantine pass) policy.
On the 7th, a petition titled "My mother passed away after vaccination. I oppose vaccination and the vaccine pass" was posted on the Blue House National Petition Board.
A man in his 40s, petitioner A, stated, "In June last year, my 64-year-old mother was diagnosed with splenic necrosis caused by splenic vein thrombosis about a month after receiving the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine," and added, "Our family suspected it was a side effect of the vaccine, but at the time, the doctor ruled out any connection to the vaccine."
He continued, "About a month after discharge, the medical opinion was that it was okay to receive the second dose," but "the family strongly opposed the second vaccination, and my mother quit her work to recover her health."
However, on December 7 last year, without consulting her family, A’s mother received the second Pfizer vaccine dose, and six days later, on the morning of the 13th, she was found collapsed at home.
A’s mother underwent surgery on December 14 last year to reduce intracranial pressure, but after a cerebral infarction occurred in the right brain followed by the left brain, brain death progressed, and she passed away on December 22, one week after the surgery.
A said, "My mother received the second Pfizer vaccine dose without telling the family due to the pressure of the vaccine pass," and added, "It breaks my heart to think of my mother suffering alone for a long time after collapsing. I urge the government to leave vaccination to individual choice and not indirectly force vaccination through policies like the vaccine pass."
Meanwhile, on the 5th, a petition was posted by a mother who is scared to have her middle school daughter, who suffers from pneumothorax (a condition where air leaks into the space between the lung and chest wall), vaccinated due to the implementation of the vaccine pass.
The Blue House National Petition Board featured a post titled, "If your child is 160cm tall, weighs 37kg with a very thin body type, and has an underlying condition of pneumothorax, would you still have them vaccinated?"
Petitioner B said, "I am a mother of three daughters. My second child is in the second year of middle school, slightly over 160cm tall, weighs 37kg with a very thin body type, and has pneumothorax. It is a disease with over 50% recurrence rate and no concept of complete cure, so I am afraid to have her vaccinated."
She continued, "My second child voluntarily refrains from private meetings with friends outside and practices quarantine and social distancing well. Even so, must she be vaccinated unconditionally? If it were your child, would you still have them vaccinated?" She confessed, "I am scared. It is not just anywhere, but a child with a lung disease, and I am very afraid to have her vaccinated."
B addressed the quarantine authorities, saying, "'Who can guarantee me 100% that there is no risk? I want to have her vaccinated too," and added, "Is there anyone who will say 'vaccinate with confidence' and take responsibility? Please do so. How can anyone dare to say they will 'take responsibility' for a human life, a person’s future?"

She further said, "Don’t say you will compensate; just say 'it is safe' and 'it is okay.' I don’t want my child to be stigmatized by the vaccine pass system. I want to have her vaccinated," and added, "I want you to confidently say that even pneumothorax patients can be vaccinated. Is there anyone who can say they will definitely have their 15-year-old, very thin, pneumothorax patient child vaccinated?"
