Kang Ki-jung: "Jeonbuk Super Metropolitan Project's Triple Casting Vote, Must Seize the Opportunity"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Kang Ki-jung, head of the Honam General Special Advisory Group for Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, said on the 10th, "Jeonbuk holds a triple casting vote in the ultra-wide area cooperation project, not triple discrimination."
On the same day, Kang appeared on Jeonbuk CBS radio's "Come On Radio with Kim Dohyun" and said, "Jeonbuk may feel neglected, but if you change your perspective, it changes," adding, "Jeonbuk can be an ultra-wide area cooperation partner not only with Gwangju and Jeonnam but also with Chungcheong and Yeongnam. This means infinite regional development is possible."
He also presented ways for the ultra-wide area cooperation project to be successfully established.
Kang emphasized, "The most important thing is how much local governments cooperate with each other," and said, "The new government should reorganize the Ministry of the Interior and Safety into the Ministry of Autonomy, Decentralization, and Balanced Development for this purpose, and create a wide-area cooperation account within the special balanced development fund to establish balanced development entities and resources."
He pointed out carbon, energy, and digital industries as Jeonbuk's future growth engines to be realized by the new government.
He predicted, "Jeonbuk can be the first center of the carbon industry, the second center of the RE100 project utilizing Saemangeum, and the third a data business hub in the southwest region combined with renewable energy."
He added, "As the head of the Honam General Special Advisory Group, my role is to lead the Honam vision and ultimately create momentum for regime re-creation through that vision," and said, "Ultimately, making good pledges for Honam's development is what I will do going forward."

He continued, "I think the next five years will be the last chance to overcome the Seoul metropolitan area’s one-pole system and achieve balanced development," and stressed, "From Honam's perspective, this election is desperate. Honam is slower in preparing ultra-wide area projects compared to Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, or the Chungcheong region. To accelerate, the 4th Democratic government, the Lee Jae-myung government, must be established."
