At the meeting chaired by Deputy Mayor An Kyung-won, discussions and interdepartmental exchanges of opinions were held regarding major projects for the closure of the district, including the Women and Family Division’s "Self-support Project for Victims of Sex Trade," the Park and Greenery Division’s "Cultural Park Development Project," and the Masanhappo-gu Economic and Transportation Division’s "Temporary Public Parking Lot Construction Project for the Sex Trade District."
Last year, the city purchased the largest establishment in the district (Ujeongjip) and has been carrying out demolition work since December. Once demolition is complete, the site will be transformed into a public parking lot with an area of 1,322㎡ and 53 parking spaces.
