'Klasse' Introducing Future Education... Busan Office of Education Distributes Educational Videos on YouTube
9 Lectures for Parents and Grandparents
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is providing educational videos for parents and grandparents who usually find it difficult to participate in education, to help them understand future education and Busan education policies.
The videos are produced in a total of nine episodes, three each: the "Father's Rest (休) Academy" edition for enhancing communication, empathy, and child-rearing capabilities of father parents at home; the "Grandparents Class" edition for grandparents facing difficulties in raising and educating grandchildren; and the "Parents Class" edition reflecting the changing digital-based educational environment.
The "Father's Rest (休) Academy" edition includes lectures on the themes: "Adding Value to a Self-Directed Life" by Jo Gap-ryong, former director of the Busan Gifted Education Promotion Institute; "New Climate Regime and Climate Change" by Seon Ho-seung, teacher at Dongshin Elementary School; and "Conversations with Dad Where Questions and Discussions Come Alive" by Yang Dong-il, education researcher at the Korea Havruta Association.
The "Grandparents Class" edition features lectures on "Thinking Skills Developed by Grandparents Raising Our Grandchildren" by education researcher Yang Dong-il; "Happy Communication That Helps Grandchildren Grow" by Jeon Mi-ran, CEO of the Education Strategy Institute; and "Our Grandchildren, Let's Play with Books" by writer Baek Hwa-hyun.
The "Parents Class" edition contains lectures on "Busan Education Opening the Future Together and the Role of Parents" for prospective parents by Superintendent Kim Seok-jun; "Digital Parenting" by Lee Seong-cheol, teacher at Jugam Elementary School; and "Busan-Style Blended Learning" by Kim Hong-rak, teacher at Mojeon Middle School.
The Office of Education uploads the produced videos on the official YouTube channel of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education to provide them to parents, and detailed information can be obtained by contacting the Education Support Division or the Parent Support Team.
