According to civic groups in the Gwangju area on the 9th, the funeral of Ms. Bae, who passed away that morning, will be held as the 'Minui-gil Bae Eun-sim Mother’s Social Funeral.'
The standing funeral committee chairpersons are Han Dong-geon, chairman of the Lee Han-yeol Memorial Project Association; Jang Nam-su, chairman of the National Democratic Bereaved Families Association; and Park Bong-ju, co-representative of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Memorial Solidarity.
Representatives of participating organizations and the Yonsei Democratic Alumni Association are organized as joint funeral committee chairpersons.
The funeral hall was set up at the first mortuary of Chosun University Hospital Funeral Hall, and the funeral will be held over three days.
A memorial night is scheduled for 7 p.m. on the 10th, with the departure ceremony in the morning of the 11th, followed by a funeral rite at the May 18 Democratic Square, and burial at the Mangwol-dong 8th Cemetery.
Ms. Bae passed away at 5:28 a.m. that day at Chosun University Hospital.
She collapsed due to a myocardial infarction on the 3rd and underwent emergency surgery, was discharged on the 7th, and returned home to her residence in Jisan-dong, Dong-gu. Although she seemed to have recovered health, engaging in conversations without difficulty with those around her, she collapsed again in the early morning of that day.
