2561 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed by 6 PM... 151 More Than Previous Day

On the 5th, medical staff were busy working at Hyemin Hospital in Gwangjin-gu, a dedicated COVID-19 hospital in Seoul. View original imageAccording to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments, from midnight to 6 p.m. on this day, a total of 2,561 people tested positive for COVID-19 across 17 cities and provinces nationwide. This is 151 more than the 2,410 cases recorded at the same time the previous day.
Compared to 2,468 cases recorded at the same time one week ago on the 1st, it is 93 more, but compared to 3,499 cases two weeks ago on the 25th of last month, it is 938 fewer.
Since there is still time until midnight when the tally closes, the number of new confirmed cases announced on the 9th is expected to increase further.
On this day, 1,661 cases (64.9%) were reported in the metropolitan area, and 900 cases (35.1%) in non-metropolitan areas.
By city and province, the numbers are: Gyeonggi 821, Seoul 694, Busan 153, Incheon 146, Daegu 109, Chungnam 108, Gyeongbuk 93, Gyeongnam 88, Gwangju 86, Gangwon 74, Jeonnam 52, Jeonbuk 49, Chungbuk 29, Daejeon 24, Ulsan 18, Jeju 11, and Sejong 6.
Confirmed cases were reported in all 17 cities and provinces.
As the fourth domestic wave of COVID-19, which began in early July, continues into its sixth month, the number of new confirmed cases has been declining since late last month.
