'Mao Zedong Eldest Daughter-in-law' Liu Siqi Passes Away at 92
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] It was reported on the 8th that Liu Siqi (Liu Siqi), the eldest daughter-in-law of former Chinese Chairman Mao Zedong (1893?1976), passed away in Beijing at the age of 92 in the early morning of the 7th.
The deceased was the wife of Mao Anying (Mao Anying), the eldest son of former Chairman Mao, who died in the Korean War. Her mother was Zhang Wenqiu (Zhang Wenqiu), a revolutionary comrade of former Chairman Mao.
She married Mao Anying in October 1949, and after the outbreak of the Korean War, her husband enlisted as a volunteer soldier and died in November 1950, about a year after their marriage.

She then studied abroad at Moscow State University in the former Soviet Union from 1955 to 1957. Afterward, from 1961, she worked as an interpreter in the People's Liberation Army, and in February 1962, she married Yang Maozhi (Yang Maozhi), a professor at the Air Force Academy, with whom she had two sons and two daughters. She later worked at the Military Science Academy of the People's Liberation Army until her retirement.
