[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Sumi] Former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk criticized Shin Yong-jin, Vice Chairman of Shinsegae Group, as being at the "level of Yoon Seok-yeol," prompting Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, to reveal photos of himself grocery shopping at Emart.
On the 8th, Yoon's Instagram posted photos of him shopping at the Emart Isu Station branch.
Along with the photos, a caption read "I tend to be sincere about grocery shopping," accompanied by hashtags such as 'Emart,' 'eggs,' 'green onions,' 'anchovies,' and 'beans.'
The People Power Party's campaign committee explained that Yoon visited the Emart Isu branch at noon that day to reassess food prices and the quarantine pass issue.
Yoon's visit to Emart that day drew attention as it came a day after former Minister Cho mentioned Yoon while criticizing Vice Chairman Shin.
Previously, Cho had criticized Vice Chairman Shin's 'anti-communism' posts on Twitter, mentioning Yoon.
Cho stated, "In 21st century South Korea, there is a chaebol chairman who posts a photo of a hangover cure along with the phrase 'anti-communism,'" adding, "He is almost at Yoon Seok-yeol's level."
In response, Vice Chairman Shin captured this post and shared it on his own Instagram with the hashtag 'respect.'
