[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] The catch volume at Jeodo fishing grounds, the northernmost fishing grounds on the East Coast, increased 4.2 times compared to 2020.
According to Gangwon Province on the 7th, the total catch value at Jeodo fishing grounds in 2021 was 5.765 billion KRW, with a catch volume of 317 tons, a 4.2-fold increase compared to 1.322 billion KRW and 75 tons in the previous year.
The main catches were octopus (193,770 kg), snow crab (25,300 kg), and seaweed (13,050 kg). The province analyzed that this was due to an increase in the number of fishing days and the number of fishing vessels compared to the previous year.
