On the morning of the 7th, Lee Eokwon, First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, presided over the '1st Innovation Growth Strategy Review Meeting, Policy Review Meeting, Korean New Deal Review Meeting, and 1st Price-Related Vice Ministers Meeting' at the Seoul Gwanghwamun Government Complex, announcing the job project plan with such content.
Vice Minister Lee said, "The direct job project supports jobs for vulnerable employment groups such as the elderly, low-income earners, and disabled people who find it difficult to enter the private labor market immediately, helping stabilize their livelihoods and transition to private jobs," mentioning this year's direct job project scale of 1.06 million jobs.
The recruitment plan scale for this month is about 600,000 people. Vice Minister Lee explained, "Since early last month, the government has conducted the first integrated announcement for a direct job project of 870,000 people, and plans to issue the second announcement next week. In the case of the elderly job project, more than 150,000 people have already started working this week, and the region-led youth job project plans to announce recruitment by local governments within this month."
He continued, "Considering the COVID-19 situation and the urgency of recruitment, non-face-to-face interviews are being conducted in parallel, and pre-procedures such as education are shortened by conducting them non-face-to-face to prevent delays in deploying hired personnel," emphasizing, "The government will continue to closely monitor the early recruitment status of direct jobs to support the livelihood stabilization of vulnerable employment groups and their transition to private jobs, and will enhance the effectiveness of the project."
Additionally, the government announced plans to advance the construction and utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) training data. Vice Minister Lee stated, "To leap forward as an AI powerhouse, securing large-scale data, the foundation for AI service development, is necessary," explaining, "This year, we will invest 579.7 billion won, a 56% increase compared to last year (370.5 billion won), to build an additional 310 types of data, expanding AI training data to a total of about 1,300 types by 2025."
