Beijing Olympics D-30... The North Face Unveils Eco-Friendly Team Korea 'Official Uniform'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] On the morning of the 5th, The North Face, a brand under Youngone Outdoor, unveiled the official uniform of the Republic of Korea national team at the ‘2022 Beijing Winter Olympics G-30 Media Day’ event hosted by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee at the Jincheon National Training Center.
The North Face supports the official uniform for the Republic of Korea national team at the Beijing Winter Olympics, consisting of a total of 19 items including award ceremony uniforms, opening and closing ceremony uniforms that will accompany the start and end of the Olympics, training uniforms (training tops and bottoms, jersey hooded zip-up jackets, jersey pants), casual wear (down jackets, fleece jackets, sweatshirts, etc.), and athlete equipment (shoes, beanies, backpacks, and travel bags, etc.).
Following the introduction of eco-friendly recycled material uniforms for the first time in Team Korea’s history at the last Tokyo Summer Olympics, Youngone Outdoor applied its unique eco-friendly innovation technology, ‘The North Face K-Eco Tech,’ to 16 out of the 19 items in the official uniform for this Beijing Winter Olympics. Based on the official uniform issued to one athlete, approximately 200 PET bottles (equivalent to 500ml each) were recycled.
Youngone Outdoor designed the official Team Korea uniform based on motifs of the Taebaek Mountain Range, the backbone of the Korean Peninsula, and the Taegeukgi (Korean national flag).

Meanwhile, Youngone Outdoor has been responsible for the official uniforms of national team athletes at major global sports events for a long time, starting with the 2014 Incheon Asian Games, the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, and the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. In March last year, it extended its sponsorship contract with the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee as the official partner for Team Korea’s sportswear division until 2024.
