[Asia Economy Reporters Ryu Jeong-min and Lee Ji-eun] President Moon Jae-in, presiding over the first video Cabinet meeting of the new year on the 4th, stated, "There are four months left in my term. Paradoxically, this is the time when we must be most vigilant."
Regarding achievements during his term, President Moon said, "With exports reaching an all-time high, last year opened a new chapter in South Korea's trade history," and evaluated, "The people and businesses joined forces, and with government support added, we made new history." President Moon emphasized, "Supply chain issues are not temporary or accidental problems but structural threats that are constantly latent," and urged, "I hope you will increase vigilance in strengthening the inspection system for items highly dependent on imports from specific countries and in enhancing mid- to long-term response capabilities."

He also attributed significance to systems newly implemented or expanded this year, such as the ‘Young Child Allowance’. President Moon explained, "Especially this year marks the first year when youth policies are fully implemented after the state shared the difficulties that young people had to bear alone," adding, "Support for monthly rent of 200,000 won, full realization of half-price tuition fees up to the middle class, and strengthened housing and education support will be actively provided to help youth asset formation."
