Jeju Fire Headquarters Achieves Nationwide 2nd Place in Fire Equipment Operation Management Evaluation

[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters (Chief Park Geun-oh) announced on the 4th that it ranked 2nd among 18 city and provincial fire headquarters nationwide in the evaluation of fire equipment manual preparation and operation management conducted by the National Fire Agency.

The evaluation of fire equipment manual preparation and operation management is a newly implemented assessment system this year, established to create a professional equipment management system foundation and institutional stabilization environment following the enforcement of fire equipment management work processing standards from January 7 last year.

This evaluation focused on five criteria?creativity, expertise and accuracy, applicability, among others?by excluding commonly used equipment from the fire equipment currently operated by field personnel and assessing a total of 36 fire equipment manuals (2 per city/province) produced in various formats such as written documents, videos, and comics.

The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters received high scores for producing video manuals for frequently used portable power pumps and chainsaws, enhancing immersion with high-quality videos detailing equipment specifications, usage methods, and emergency response procedures.

In addition to the two excellent manuals, they have produced 30 additional fire equipment manual videos and are continuously conducting training to help field personnel easily operate fire equipment, thereby strengthening the equipment management system.

Chief Park Geun-oh stated, “Through continuous fire equipment education and repetitive training, we will establish a 100% operational system for fire equipment to respond swiftly to changing disaster scenes.”
