Chairman Kang Tae-seon and Mrs. Kim Hee-wol each pledged a donation of 100 million KRW, becoming the 193rd and 194th members nationwide of the Red Cross Honours Club (RCHC). They are the 13th couple members and the first couple to join in the new year of 2022.
At the joining ceremony, Chairman Kang Tae-seon said, “Due to COVID-19, we are facing social issues completely different from before, and cooperation and solidarity among individuals, companies, and institutions are needed more than ever. I hope this donation, made together with my wife who has supported the spirit of sharing throughout her life, will help humanitarian activities assisting the underprivileged neighbors in Jeju, which is my hometown and the starting point of my business.”

Meanwhile, Chairman Kang Tae-seon launched the Black Yak Kang Tae-seon Sharing Foundation and the Black Yak Kang Tae-seon Scholarship Foundation in 2013, carrying out various public interest projects such as support for low-income and marginalized groups, assistance for families of mountaineers based on the identity of an outdoor company, and green environment creation projects. In 2017, he and Mrs. Kim Hee-wol joined the Honor Society, a high-value donor club of the Community Chest of Korea, as couple members.
