Jeju Udo 30s Pregnant Woman Complains of Labor Pains, 'Emergency Transport'
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] At around 5:28 a.m. on the 3rd, a pregnant woman in her 30s residing in Udo-myeon, Jeju City, was urgently transported to Seongsan Port.
According to Seogwipo Coast Guard on the day, the pregnant woman, who was 39 weeks pregnant, complained of labor pains from early morning and visited the Udo Health Center. After examination, it was determined that transfer to an obstetrics and gynecology hospital was necessary, so at around 4:48 a.m., an urgent transfer request was made to Seogwipo Coast Guard.
The Seogwipo Coast Guard dispatched the coastal rescue boat from Seongsan Police Substation to Udo, took the patient and her guardian on board, and transported them to Seongsan Port. At around 5:28 a.m., they handed her over to a waiting 119 ambulance, which then transported her to an obstetrics and gynecology hospital located in Jeju City.
A Seogwipo Coast Guard official said, “Even in the new year, we will do our best to quickly transport emergency patients in island areas and prevent safety accidents to protect the lives of the people.”
