Kim Junsung, Yeonggwang County Governor, Begins Duties with Signing of Integrity Pledge

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 3rd that it started its duties with the signing of the anti-corruption and integrity pledge to welcome the New Year 2022.

The county inserts the anti-corruption and integrity pledge into the work notebooks produced and distributed annually to its affiliated public officials, pledging to live with integrity and eradicate corruption.

This year as well, all public officials including the governor welcomed the New Year with the integrity pledge.

The pledge commits to being a model in creating a fair and just society through an honest work attitude and eradication of corruption as a county public official, including ▲ compliance with laws and principles as a public official ▲ kind and fair handling of duties ▲ active reporting of matters that undermine fairness and integrity.

Last year, the county achieved a ‘Comprehensive Integrity Level 2’ rating, rising two grades compared to the previous year, in the integrity evaluation conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission targeting public institutions.

Also, it was selected as a Grade 1 institution in the corruption prevention policy evaluation hosted by Jeollanam-do and received the ‘Grand Prize,’ marking its greatest achievement.

Along with this, starting with the signing campaign of the integrity pledge, the county plans to continuously strive to establish public service discipline and improve integrity by actively conducting preemptive and guiding audit activities to prevent corruption through integrity practice campaigns, mandatory completion of public official integrity education, and activation of autonomous internal control systems.

A county official said, “To establish an integrity culture in public service that citizens can feel, we will create a happy Yeonggwang together with the citizens by practicing fair work handling.”
