[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] HJ Heavy Industries held a new Corporate Identity (CI) declaration ceremony and a kickoff meeting on the 3rd. This was the first official event since finalizing the new company name and CI last month.
Hong Moon-gi, CEO of HJ Heavy Industries, Vice Presidents Yoo Sang-chul and Sung Kyung-chul, along with management, labor union members, employee representatives, and winners of the company name contest attended the event held at the Namyeong-dong headquarters in Seoul. Along with the declaration ceremony, there were morale-boosting performances, badge presentation ceremonies, company name contest awards, and New Year greetings.
The company changed its name to achieve a new leap forward as a comprehensive heavy industries company and to build a global brand image after a change in the largest shareholder. The new symbol design was inspired by the four trigrams of the Taegeukgi (Korean national flag). The colors used were green, representing growth and prosperity, and dark green, symbolizing the continuation of tradition. The ascending diagonal trigram combination embodies the spirit of challenge and pioneering.
