Jangseong-gun Holds Opening Ceremony... Presents Military Administration Direction and Key Policies

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeonnam, held a New Year's ceremony on the morning of the 3rd at the situation room on the 2nd floor of the county office, marking a vigorous leap forward in the Year of the Black Tiger.

According to the county on the 3rd, the event was held with about 30 attendees including County Governor Yoo Doo-seok and heads of departments, in compliance with quarantine rules.

Governor Yoo Doo-seok stated, "Last year was a year in which we gained strong confidence and hope through the active participation and exemplary conduct of the residents, as well as the sacrifice and passion of public officials."

He cited the inclusion of 2.8 billion KRW in government budget for the establishment of the National Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Center, worth 198 billion KRW, as the most representative achievement.

The county presented the direction of county administration and key policies for the new year.

It plans to focus on strengthening the safety system of Jangseong by providing 200,000 KRW in COVID-19 daily recovery support funds before the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday, and by maintaining flood-prone areas such as Odong, Jangsan, and Sinheung districts.

By installing the Jangseong Hi-Pass IC entrance and exit roads and opening the Cheongun underpass, the county will accelerate urban expansion and create a new model of a mixed urban-rural city by promoting projects such as the development model for the former Goryeo Cement site, the creation of Deokseong Happiness Village in Nam-myeon, and the development of the Advanced 3 District.

The county plans to complete a city centered on culture, tourism, and sports to bring change to Jangseong's economy. Hwangryonggang River is pushing forward with the creation of a local garden aiming for designation as a national garden, and the development of Chukryeongsan Sky Forest Trail and Jangseongho Lakeside Hundred-ri Trail will continue.

The UNESCO World Heritage site Pilam Seowon will build high-quality historical and cultural content through the scholar culture world and fostering projects.

Focusing on customized welfare that satisfies everyone from newborns to the elderly, the county will prioritize the completion of the 'Senior Citizens' Hall' scheduled for the first half of the year and the groundbreaking of the 'Family Center' planned for this year.

Efforts will also be made to foster future agriculture and build a prosperous farming village.

The National Subtropical Crop Demonstration Center, a forefront base for Korea's future agriculture, will be successfully established, and the 'Jangseong-type Food Plan' jointly implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Jangseong-gun, and the Nonghyup will innovate the agricultural product distribution sector.

One of the core values of Yellow City Jangseong, 'nurturing future talents,' will also be emphasized.

Operating the first-ever Education Development Council in Jeonnam, the county will actively resolve difficulties in the education field, and the 21st Century Jangseong Academy will strengthen residents' capabilities and governance power even in the 'COVID era' by simultaneously providing non-face-to-face online live broadcasts.

Governor Yoo Doo-seok said, "Last year, despite numerous hardships, we trusted and cooperated with each other to turn crises into opportunities," and added, "I hope that in the new year, we will continue to pool our wisdom so that the streams of hope toward a new Jangseong will form an ocean."
