On the same day, Kim held an emergency meeting of party members at the National Assembly and said, "We all have the responsibility to show a vision and hope to achieve a regime change and create an era of fairness and common sense that offers hope to the people."
The People Power Party's election committee has faced its greatest crisis since its launch. Shin Ji-ye, former head of the Korean Women's Network, was recruited as the senior vice-chairman of the New Era Preparation Committee but resigned on the same day. Additionally, Lee Jun-seok, the party leader of the People Power Party, resigned from his position as permanent election committee chairman. As controversies continued, the approval rating of Yoon Seok-youl, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, declined. Regarding the recent events, Kim said, "I have received numerous protests, messages, and calls asking when this self-inflicted damage will end," adding, "The public is frustrated, and many have scolded us, asking if we are desperate."
He continued, "I believe the historic mission given to us can be summarized in four words: regime change," emphasizing, "We all have the responsibility to show the people a vision and hope to achieve regime change centered on candidate Yoon Seok-youl and the People Power Party and to create an era of fairness and common sense."
