Jeongeup-si Holds New Year's Kickoff Ceremony... Public Officials' Resolution 'Commitment'

[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Jeongeup City, Jeonbuk Province (Mayor Yoo Jinseop) announced on the 3rd that it held the 2022 Im In-nyeon (壬寅年) opening ceremony at the Jeongeupsa Arts Center.

According to the city on that day, the opening ceremony proceeded in the order of Mayor Yoo Jinseop’s New Year’s address and public officials’ pledge after paying respects at the Loyalty Tower, attended by heads of departments, eup/myeon/dong chiefs, and heads of administrative and general affairs teams.

In his New Year’s address, Mayor Yoo said, “I extend consolation and encouragement to the citizens and public officials who suffered from COVID-19, and I ask for your unwavering affection and support in the new year of Im In-nyeon.”

He added, “This year is the year of the 20th presidential election and the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections, so I ask public officials to focus more than ever on their roles and concentrate on conducting transparent and fair elections.”

Furthermore, he emphasized, “In the new year, please devote all your efforts to creating a Jeongeup City where the lives of all citizens become richer and happier by carrying out kind and proactive administration.”

He also urged, “This year is a crucial time marking the end of the 7th popularly elected term and the beginning of the 8th term, so please focus all administrative power on swiftly promoting the key core projects of the 7th term to improve the quality of life for citizens.”

Mayor Yoo Jinseop said, “This year, the year of the black tiger with a brave and strong character, Im In-nyeon, I will approach administration with the attitude of Nojeokseonghae (露積成海, ‘dew accumulates to become the sea’),” and “I intend to open a new path of hope for Jeongeup through the gathering of expectations, hopes, and will of both public officials and citizens.”

He continued, “I will carry out a more vibrant and dynamic city administration and a warm and touching citizen-centered administration so that Jeongeup City can take a step forward.”
