Strengthening Organizational Capabilities for Efficient Handling of Surging Administrative Demands... Lee Jeong-hoon, Gangdong-gu Mayor, Visits COVID-19 Response Site on January 1 to Encourage Frontline Workers, Starting the New Year with First Official Activity
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) has reorganized its organization as of January 1 to enhance the completeness of key district projects and actively respond to complex and diverse administrative demands.
This reorganization focuses on strengthening residents' safety and welfare and promoting eco-friendly resource circulation policies by establishing three new departments: Disaster Safety Division, Family Policy Division, and Resource Circulation Division.
First, the Disaster Safety Division was established to strengthen the control tower function for unpredictable social disasters, take charge of tasks related to the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, and oversee administrative work for residents' safety.
Additionally, to respond to administrative demands arising from social structural changes such as changes in family forms, the Family Policy Division was established to strengthen gender equality, childbirth support, and policies supporting single-person households.
Furthermore, to lead eco-friendly policies for recycling the rapidly increasing household waste and garbage due to diversified living patterns, the Resource Circulation Division was established to promote the transition to a sustainable resource circulation society.
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, stated, “After long discussions and considerations to protect residents' safety and improve quality of life, we have reorganized the organization. We will efficiently operate the reorganized organization with our staff to actively respond to various administrative demands.”
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, began his first steps of the new year 2022 by visiting COVID-19 response sites on the morning of January 1 to encourage frontline workers who have been working hard day after day.
On this day, Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon sequentially visited the temporary screening clinic set up in the Amsa History Park parking lot and the Gangdong-gu Health Center situation room, meeting and delivering messages of encouragement and support to medical staff, volunteers, and employees deployed on site.
He also directly participated in quarantine activities by guiding residents who came for COVID-19 testing on how to fill out the questionnaire and precautions after the PCR test.
He then visited the home treatment task force working at the district office, expressing gratitude for the employees working without holidays during the year-end and New Year holidays.
