Gwangju Buk-gu Holds Opening Ceremony for Resident Priority Parking Lot
Open Ceremony at Jungheung 2-dong Senior Center on the 3rd at 2 PM, Expecting Improved Residential Parking Environment and Efficient Parking Space Provision
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City announced that it will hold an opening ceremony for the 'Resident Priority Parking Lot,' created to alleviate parking difficulties in residential areas, at 2 p.m. on the 3rd.
The opening ceremony will proceed with a progress report, unveiling ceremony, and parking demonstration.
Previously, Buk-gu established the resident priority parking lot in connection with last year's university town-type urban regeneration New Deal project and has been operating it on a trial basis since December last year.
The parking lot has a total of 229 spaces located around Buk-gu Office and the Moa Town Apartment area in Sinan-dong, including building entrances, in front of house gates, and beside fences.
Parking spaces are primarily allocated to residents, and any remaining spaces are assigned to visitors and others.
In the future, they plan to enhance convenience by providing a one-stop service for application, allocation, and shared parking using IoT sensors and a mobile app.
Since this is the first project implemented in Gwangju City, Buk-gu plans to operate it on a trial basis for a while to ensure stable settlement, supplement and improve any shortcomings, and prepare efficient measures before converting it to a paid system.
Director Moon In said, "We created the resident priority parking lot to provide stable parking spaces for residents living in residential areas," and added, "We will continue efforts to resolve downtown parking difficulties and will consider additional creation based on the trial operation results."
