InterContinental Upgrades 3 Beloved Packages... Season 2 Edition
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] InterContinental Seoul COEX announced on the 3rd that it has reviewed the best-selling room packages of 2021 and upgraded the top three most loved packages to Season 2 for 2022, launching them from this month.
The hotel stated, "Throughout 2021, due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19, packages that allowed guests to stay and relax within their rooms were the best sellers." The most sold package at InterContinental Seoul COEX last year was the 'Surprise Minibar Package.' This package, which allowed free use of a total of 14 minibar items including alcoholic beverages and drinks that guests usually avoided due to high prices, was consistently popular with nearly 200 rooms sold monthly on average.
The second most popular was the 'In-Room Breakfast Package.' Its appeal came from offering essential benefits most desired by customers, such as private in-room dining breakfast for two and a 2 PM late checkout, along with weekday stays starting from the 200,000 KRW range.
The third was the '30-Hour Stay Package,' sold exclusively for weekday stays (Sunday to Thursday), when customer visits are relatively low. Designed for guests seeking a more generous and leisurely hotel vacation, this package allows use from 10 AM until 4 PM the next day, up to 30 hours, and includes breakfast buffet benefits for two, enabling a relaxed rest plan.
Meanwhile, the weekday 'Workation' product, '88 Han Haru Package,' which has become a new trend in hotel vacations, also recorded high sales throughout 2021. As remote work became common among companies and more customers sought a balance between work and rest, this package, which can be used from 8 AM to 8 PM without an overnight stay, sold over 150 rooms monthly on average and gained popularity. Among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), it became known as an entry-level product offering a 5-star luxury hotel experience at a reasonable price in the low to mid 100,000 KRW range, increasing visits from younger customers.
Additionally, various kids packages, including the Kids Forest Package created in collaboration with the Pinkfong Baby Shark character as a kids & family-friendly hotel, consistently sold 100 to 150 rooms monthly. As the only hotel in the Gangnam area operating a club lounge that allows infants, with a separate kids menu corner within the club lounge, customer satisfaction among families was enhanced.
