Gwangju Dong-gu "Prepare for Winter Natural Disasters with Wind and Flood Insurance"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Dong-gu, Gwangju (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 28th that it will actively promote focused publicity for subscribing to 'Fengshui Disaster Insurance' to protect residents' property from natural disasters during the winter season.
'Fengshui Disaster Insurance' is a policy insurance that practically compensates for property damage caused by natural disasters such as typhoons, heavy rain, heavy snow, and strong winds. The state and local governments support a minimum of 52.5% and up to 92% depending on the financial conditions of the local government so that residents can subscribe and benefit from affordable insurance premiums.
Dong-gu has designated the period until March next year as the focused publicity period and will promote it intensively through various methods such as ▲ opening and operating insurance guidance desks by neighborhood ▲ visiting the relevant 'insurance companies' for promotion ▲ utilizing Doodream and Dong-gu website ▲ requesting promotion from merchant associations, sanitation associations, and self-governing organizations ▲ posting banners along the Pureungil walking trail and Mudeungsan hiking trails.
The subscription targets include houses, greenhouses (including vinyl houses), as well as small business owners (stores and factories).
Insurance can be individually subscribed through five private insurance companies: DB Insurance, Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, KB Insurance, and NH Nonghyup Insurance. Group subscriptions are also possible by opening insurance guidance desks within the Dong administrative welfare center.
Mayor Im Taek of Dong-gu said, "Ahead of the winter season, I hope many residents subscribe to Fengshui Disaster Insurance to prepare for unforeseen natural disasters," adding, "We will do our best to build a safety infrastructure so that all residents can live with peace of mind from various natural and social disasters."
