Paju-si to Introduce 'First Meeting Voucher' Next Year to Ease Childcare Burden
Separate Payment from 'Childbirth Congratulatory Money'... 2 Million Won Per Person
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Paju City in Gyeonggi Province will promote the introduction of the 'First Meeting Voucher' from next year to reduce the burden of child-rearing.
According to the city on the 28th, the 'First Meeting Voucher' will be provided to children born next year to reduce the economic burden of child-rearing and strengthen social and national responsibility. This is separate from the city's own project, the 'Birth Celebration Grant.'
The recipients are infants born on or after January 1, 2022, who have been registered and assigned a resident registration number, regardless of birth order or multiple births. Each child will receive 2 million KRW in National Happiness Card vouchers (points).
According to the amendment to the 'Framework Act on Low Birthrate and Aging Society,' applications can be made for children born from January 1, 2022, and the 'First Meeting Voucher' will be retroactively paid from April 1, 2022, when the law takes effect.
