Jeonnam Fire Department "Will Do Its Best to Achieve 'Safer Euddeum Jeonnam' Next Year as Well"
2021 Business Review and 2022 Business Plan Reporting Meeting Held
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) announced on the 23rd that it held a 2021 business settlement and 2022 business plan reporting meeting.
At the meeting, attended by department and team leaders of the headquarters and fire station chiefs, they looked back on the past year, discussed the achievements and reflections on the policies implemented, major policies to be promoted next year, and shared key pending issues.
Jeonnam Fire promised a safe 100 years for Jeonnam by opening a standalone headquarters in April, and all employees engraved the firefighting spirit of being devoted, trusted, and honorable Jeonnam Fire in their hearts, striving to protect the safety and lives of the residents.
In addition to fire, rescue, and emergency medical services, they worked hard to prevent the spread of infectious diseases by supporting the transport of suspected and symptomatic COVID-19 patients, and from August, expanded the 119 Life Safety Patrol to 22 cities and counties, introducing a new form of firefighting safety service.
They also achieved excellent results in a total of 13 fields, including winning the Presidential Award at the 34th National Firefighting, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Tactics Competition, and ranking first nationwide in the research presentation contest on strengthening on-site response capabilities, proving that Jeonnam residents receive the nation’s best firefighting services.
In 2022, Jeonnam Fire Headquarters will expand firefighting safety infrastructure by establishing fire stations in Gokseong and Gurye counties and opening two new 119 Safety Centers to eliminate safety blind spots and create an equal safety service environment. They will also deploy two 119 ambulances in island areas and operate multipurpose firefighting helicopters capable of 24-hour dispatch.
To strengthen on-site response capabilities, they will reinforce firefighting vehicles with a 70-meter high ladder truck and 101 firefighting vehicles necessary for various disaster responses, and also enhance firefighting equipment to prepare for the increasing number of electric vehicle fires.
Chief Ma Jaeyoon said, “2021 was a year in which Jeonnam Fire made great efforts to meet the expectations of the residents,” and added, “Based on the discussions at this meeting, we will reflect the results in next year’s business plan and actively respond to realize ‘Safer and Leading Jeonnam.’”
