The Youth Community Revitalization Project is a program prepared by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety aimed at contributing to regional revitalization through exchange and communication between local residents and youth. Gyeongnam Province implemented it for the first time this year.
To achieve the target activities, each team was supported with 8 million KRW in task execution expenses, and each community, led by youth, sought ways for youth and the region to grow together by creating local culture.
In particular, Jinju City's 'Yeonghwaro-un' team, which produced the independent film 'Gyunyeol' together with local residents and submitted it to a short independent film festival, and Geochang County's 'Tto-o-yeo' team, which operated an art experience activity for the elderly called 'I Am Still Beautiful' using paint, were recognized for their activity achievements and received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award (Encouragement Award) among 18 teams nationwide at the performance sharing meeting hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 2nd of last month.
The event was prepared as a venue for presenting and exchanging the promotion achievements of 10 youth community revitalization project participating organizations active in the region this year.
At the event, each community's activity videos and performance presentations, expert evaluations and consultations, and time for sharing impressions among communities were held. 'Art DM' from Changwon, which participated in the project, presented a creative dance performance, and 'Yeonghwaro-un' showcased a creative musical performance.
One project participant said, "Through the experience of gathering with people who have similar hobbies and talents with the same sense of purpose and sharing thoughts and daily life, I gained the courage to live together in the region in the future."
