Air Busan Surpasses 10,000 Pet Transportations This Year... 34.6% Increase Compared to Last Year
Increase in Number of Accompanying Pets to 10 per Ticket
Enhancing Pet-Friendly Image and Increasing Passengers
[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Air Busan announced on the 22nd that its pet transportation performance this year has surpassed 10,000 animals.
According to Air Busan, as of today, the total number of pets transported reached 11,097, a 34.6% increase compared to last year (8,241 animals).
The company analyzed that since 2019, as the rate of traveling with pets has increased, expanding the limit per flight from the previous 3 animals to up to 10 animals starting this year was effective.
Air Busan explained that through marketing activities tailored to the emerging travel trend of 'traveling with pets,' it has not only enhanced its image as a pet-friendly airline but also shown positive effects on the increase in passengers.
In February, the airline provided a dedicated boarding pass with the pet's name for passengers traveling with pets, and it was the first domestic airline to create a 'free pet ticket' allowing pets to board free of charge regardless of their weight.
