Announcement of 122 New Manufactured and Imported Chemical Substances This Year... 44 Classified as 'Hazardous and Risky'
Ministry of Employment: "Carcinogenicity, Acute Toxicity, Skin Corrosiveness Confirmed in 44 Substances"
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced on the 22nd the names and hazardous/risk characteristics of 122 new chemical substances manufactured or imported this year.
Among them, 44 substances including DL-10-Camphorsulfonic acid and 4-Mercaptophenol were confirmed to have hazards/risks such as carcinogenicity, acute toxicity, and skin corrosion/irritation.
The Ministry notified employers manufacturing or importing these 44 substances to take measures to protect workers' health, such as installing ventilation facilities and providing protective glasses and gloves. It also required workplaces to post related information and provide education so that workers can recognize and respond to the hazards/risks of these substances in advance.
