Wando-gun Successfully Completes 2021 Marine Climate Healing Program

According to the county on the 21st, this year's marine climate healing program was operated 73 times from March to December 8, with 3,752 participants.
The marine climate healing program started in 2018 and has been operated a total of 236 times until this year, with 17,531 people experiencing marine climate healing.
Programs by target group included a COVID Blue overcoming program for mild dementia elderly and COVID-19 response personnel, a visiting marine healing experience for island eup/myeon residents, and a relay challenge program involving social organizations.
In addition to the existing Nordic walking and Pilates, sound meditation using the "singing bowl," meaning "singing vessel," wave sound meditation, mind expression meditation, and barefoot sand walking meditation were conducted to comfort and heal the tired and depressed minds caused by COVID-19.
According to participant surveys, the marine healing experience helped relieve participants' stress and was a program they wanted to participate in again.
Subjective healing effects showed stress relief at 78.9%, muscle pain relief at 27.8%, and joint pain relief at 19.3% in order.
Regarding future program participation intentions, 85.7% expressed active participation, and 13.1% said they would consider participating.
A county official said, "We will supplement the programs operated until this year and prepare to offer more diverse experiences next year," adding, "We ask for much interest and participation so that marine healing can be revitalized."
Meanwhile, Wando-gun plans to develop a healing tourism program that allows people to heal their body and mind through marine healing while staying overnight and to heal through tourism.
