According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 18th, a total of 57 people were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in one day, including 55 local infections and 2 imported cases.
By infection route, 15 cases were reported from a middle school located in Buk-gu, making it the most prominent cluster.
After the first confirmed case was identified at the school on the 16th, additional infections were confirmed through a full investigation. The cumulative total is 16.
Following that, 2 cases occurred at a daycare center in the same district, and 1 case was reported at a middle school in Gwangsan-gu.
Six cases were reported at a medical institution in Seo-gu. Among them, one is known to be a dental hygienist.
There were 21 cases related to existing confirmed patients, 7 cases related to confirmed patients from other cities or provinces, and 8 cases under investigation.
