Statistics Korea and Sahakyeongeum Sign Agreement on Pension Data Utilization

View original image[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Statistics Korea announced on the 16th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Private School Teachers' Pension Service for 'Utilization of Pension Data and Joint Research Cooperation.'
The two organizations agreed to cooperate in providing private school pension data for pension statistics compilation, joint research, consulting, and analysis related to the private school pension panel survey. Statistics Korea emphasized that this MOU represents a case of linkage and analysis cooperation between government and public institution data.
Ryu Geun-gwan, Commissioner of Statistics Korea, stated, "We expect this to be a case of combining and linking government and public institution data necessary for developing comprehensive pension statistics to ensure stable retirement income for all citizens." He added, "Statistics Korea will actively support the direction, survey methods, and analysis of the private school pension panel survey based on its accumulated experience in national statistics compilation."

Joo Myung-hyun, Director of the Private School Teachers' Pension Service, said, "This agreement to link and analyze data collected by Statistics Korea and pension data from the Private School Teachers' Pension Service will serve as an opportunity to expand data-driven policy making and research."
