Korea Expressway Corporation and SafeWare Win Government's 'Innovation Procurement Competition' Grand Prize

The Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Public Procurement Service announced on the 16th that they held the '2nd Innovation Procurement Competition' on the 15th at Dongdaemun Digital Plaza (DDP) in Seoul, with participation from central administrative agencies, local governments, public institutions, and innovative product manufacturing companies in the public sector.
Twenty organizations and 52 companies applied to participate, and after the first round of screening, 20 were shortlisted. The 10 organizations and 10 companies that advanced to the finals shared their innovation procurement cases with the public. The final evaluation of organizations and companies was conducted through a panel of six experts (70%) and a vote by 50 citizens (30%).
As a result, two entities, Korea Expressway Corporation (organization) and SafeWare (company), received the grand prize. Four organizations and four companies each won the gold prize, and five organizations and five companies each received the silver prize. Awarded organizations and companies will receive commendations from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance or the head of the Public Procurement Service.

A Ministry of Economy and Finance official stated, "The awarded cases will be published in the 'Innovation Procurement Best Practices Collection' and used as promotional materials to spread the culture of innovation procurement and activate purchasing within the public sector."
