Seoul City Signs MOU with 11 Universities Including Dongduk Women's University to Create 'Gender Equality Campuses'
Support for Violence Prevention Education for University Students, Collaboration on Content Development for Dating Violence and Sexual Violence Prevention
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 15th with 11 universities in Seoul to create a 'Gender Equality Campus' to spread awareness of gender equality and prevent dating violence and sexual violence on campus.
According to Seoul City on the 14th, the universities signing this MOU are Dongduk Women's University, Myongji College, Soongui Women's College, Chugye University for the Arts, Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Korea National Sport University, Hoseo University, Hanshin University, KC University, Seoul Christian University, and Baewha Women's University, totaling 11 universities.
Through this agreement, Seoul City and each university will actively build a cooperative relationship to promote violence prevention education and develop gender equality content to create gender-equal campuses.
Seoul City began the gender equality campus creation MOU with five universities in 2017 and has increased the number of participating universities every year. It plans to continue expanding MOUs with universities that have not yet signed agreements.

Kim Seon-soon, Director of the Seoul City Women and Family Policy Office, said, "Through this agreement, Seoul City and universities will work together to create a university culture free of discrimination and based on gender equality," adding, "Along with this, we will continue efforts to make our society as a whole healthy and safe."
