Gunfire at Outdoor Memorial Service in US... 1 Dead, 13 Injured
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] On the 12th (local time) at around 6:40 PM, a mass shooting occurred at an outdoor memorial service in Baytown, Texas, USA, resulting in 1 death and at least 13 injuries, according to AP News and others.
According to reports, the event was organized by a woman to commemorate her son who passed away two weeks ago. Around the time when about 50 attendees were releasing balloons into the sky, a suspect approached by car and opened fire.
The exact identities of the injured have not yet been confirmed, but it is reported that among them were a pastor and his spouse who attended the event, as well as young children. ABC News and others reported that the injured were transported to hospitals by helicopter and other means immediately after the incident, with three in critical condition.
