Professor Kim Jun-yeop of Kyung Hee University Appointed as the 26th President of the International Area Studies Association
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Kim Junyeop, Dean of the College of International Studies and Graduate School of International Studies at Kyung Hee University, has been appointed as the 26th president of the International Area Studies Association (IAAS).
The International Area Studies Association announced on the 11th that Professor Kim will serve as president from January 1, 2023, to January 1, 2024.
With a 26-year history, the International Area Studies Association is a multidisciplinary academic organization encompassing social sciences and humanities, with over 2,000 members participating.

President Kim stated, "Thanks to the participation of the previous presidents and members, we have achieved our current status," adding, "Going forward, with the keywords 'global' and 'convergence,' I will enhance the status of interdisciplinary research through academic convergence and the integration of global regions, not only in social sciences and humanities but also extending to natural sciences and engineering." President Kim has previously served as vice president of the Korea Industrial Cluster Association and chairman of the Industrial Innovation Forum of the Korea Productivity Society.
