Gurye-gun Wins Excellence Award at the 2021 Korea Local Autonomy Innovation Awards
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun (Governor Kim Soon-ho) announced on the 10th that it won the Excellence Award in the Administrative Innovation category at the ‘2021 Korea Local Autonomy Innovation Awards’ held at the Construction Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The Korea Local Autonomy Innovation Awards is an event sponsored by the National Association of Mayors, Governors, and District Heads and the National Assembly Administration and Security Committee to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the local autonomy system, selecting local governments that have achieved outstanding results in local autonomy and regional development.
For this Innovation Award, over 100 excellent cases were submitted from 56 local governments nationwide, and the final awardees and recipients were selected through the first document screening and the second presentation.
Gurye-gun received high praise for establishing public-private governance and actively promoting communication administration by resolving the entrance fee issue at Cheoneunsa Temple, organizing and operating the Regional Development Innovation Council, building the Gurye-type educational autonomy model, implementing customized on-site communication administration for residents, and revitalizing resident participation SNS promotion, thereby solving many local issues.
