[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) will hold the lighting ceremony of the ‘Gangdong Bridge of Light 'Hello? Gangdong’ on December 11 at Gwangjin Bridge to comfort residents exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
‘Gangdong Bridge of Light’ is a festival held on Gwangjin Bridge, operating light exhibitions for pedestrians including residents using the bridge since 2020 in response to the COVID-19 situation.
This year, under the concept of 'Hello? Gangdong', light exhibitions and various activities will be created to provide a space where anyone can relax and enjoy.
The Gangdong Bridge of Light 'Hello? Gangdong’ was created to allow Gangdong residents, who have found it difficult to meet due to COVID-19, to exchange greetings and offer comfort and support. It will be held from December 11 until February 13 of next year.
The lighting ceremony will take place at 5:30 PM on the 11th at Gwangjin Bridge 8th Street, and the car-free street vehicle control on Gwangjin Bridge will be from 4 PM to 8 PM.
The grand LED media drum performance will open the lighting ceremony, announcing the start of ‘Gangdong Bridge of Light 'Hello? Gangdong’ and the beginning of the beautifully illuminated Gwangjin Bridge on winter nights.
This year, various light-related experiences will be prepared to delight the eyes and ears of visitors to Gwangjin Bridge. Starting at the southern entrance of Gwangjin Bridge with greetings from Gangdong-gu’s representative character ‘Umseu Friends’, the area up to Gwangjin Bridge 8th Street will be decorated with diverse light displays, experiences, and play facilities.
▲ ‘Light Shower’, where you can hold greeting messages in your hands ▲ ‘3D Propeller’ using cutting-edge systems ▲ animal-shaped ‘Luminaria’ ▲ brilliantly shining ‘Light Tunnel’ and other diverse contents will create a whole bridge transformed into a single light exhibition hall offering new experiences.
