Mokpo City Secures 950 Billion KRW in National Funding... 'Regional Development Foreseen'
Including 121 Cases Such as the Fisheries Food Export Complex Development Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Seunghyun] Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 6th that 121 cases totaling 955 billion KRW related to the region were reflected in next year's government budget approved by the National Assembly.
This is an increase of 61.7 billion KRW compared to this year's 893.3 billion KRW, marking the highest amount ever reflected.
Among these, projects such as strengthening the capacity of the Fisheries Food Industry Hub Complex, the second phase construction of the Honam High-Speed Railway, and the Korea Island Promotion Agency were finally increased and additionally reflected during the National Assembly Budget Committee process.
Major projects reflected in next year's government budget include SOC projects such as ▲Mokpo~Songjeong Honam High-Speed Railway Phase 2 project with 605 billion KRW (including Railway Corporation funds) ▲Construction and electrification of the Namhae Coastal Railway between Mokpo and Boseong with 24.6 billion KRW (including Railway Corporation funds) ▲Opening of the National Road 77 (Aphae~Hwawon) connecting road with 42.9 billion KRW.
In the port development sector, ▲Establishment of the West Maintenance Factory for the Coast Guard with 53.8 billion KRW ▲Expansion of the North Port fishing vessel wharf with 14.9 billion KRW ▲Construction of the Mokpo New Port Ro-Ro Wharf with 14.3 billion KRW ▲Environmental improvement of the Mokpo South Port dumping site with 3.5 billion KRW, etc.
In the industrial sector, ▲Development and demonstration of eco-friendly ship mixed fuel technology with 7.3 billion KRW ▲Development of electric propulsion car ferry and mobile power supply system with 2.15 billion KRW ▲Creation of fisheries food export complex with 30 billion KRW ▲Strengthening capacity of export food industry hub complex with 700 million KRW ▲Development to improve efficiency of passenger ships based on renewable energy with 2.4 billion KRW, etc.
Regional development projects include ▲Construction of Mokpo Comprehensive Stadium with 4 billion KRW ▲Seosan Ongeum redevelopment promotion project with 1.5 billion KRW ▲Tourism hub city development project with 5.25 billion KRW ▲Fishing village New Deal project with 5.9 billion KRW ▲Construction of Mokpo Christian Modern History Museum with 200 million KRW, etc.
