Voice Phishing Prevention Content Contest... 15 Winning Works Selected
The Work Titled 'Don't Think Voice Phishing Is Someone Else's Problem'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sunmi] Fifteen works were selected as award-winning entries in a content contest aimed at raising public awareness about voice phishing.
On the 6th, the Financial Supervisory Service and various financial associations and central organizations announced the results of the 2021 Content Contest for Voice Phishing Damage Prevention, conducted to raise public awareness and discover effective educational and promotional content for damage prevention. One grand prize, two excellence awards, and a total of 15 works were selected as winners, with certificates and prize money awarded.
A total of 203 works were submitted across three online content categories (video, card news, webtoon). Many entries featured fresh ideas on various topics such as voice phishing prevention methods, introduction of new scam techniques, and policy proposals, and were produced as consumer-friendly content formats including time slips, traditional fairy tales, and campaign songs.
The grand prize was awarded to the team of Lee O-mi, Yoo O-in, and Lee O-jin for their work titled "Don't Think Voice Phishing Is Someone Else's Problem." The excellence awards went to the video category team of Heo O-hye, Han O-ji, and Choi O-eun for "You Got Hooked in a Flash," and to Ko O-min in the webtoon category for "Voice Phishing, You Can Prevent and Respond." Additionally, 11 works received merit awards and 1 work received an encouragement award across the video, card news, and webtoon categories.

A Financial Supervisory Service official emphasized, "Despite continuous efforts such as institutional improvements and public campaigns for voice phishing damage prevention, scam techniques are becoming increasingly sophisticated and cunning, so consumer damage still occurs, requiring special caution from the public." The official added, "We plan to widely provide the winning works from this contest for use in educational activities related to voice phishing by financial institutions and related organizations."
