Hong Joon-pyo: "Moon, Stop Interfering in the Presidential Race... Should Prepare to Step Down"
Mentions of Daejang-dong Corruption, Gobal Saju, and Deutsche Motors Incident
[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] Hong Joon-pyo, a member of the People Power Party, raised his voice in criticism toward President Moon Jae-in, saying he is "conducting a political conspiracy investigation."
On the 1st, Hong stated on Facebook to President Moon, "It is time to stop interfering in the presidential election and prepare for your final descent," adding, "That is the right thing to do to ensure your safety after retirement."
Hong pointed out, "How can the presidential election be manipulated only within President Moon's grasp?" He continued, "It has been several months since allegations of corruption involving major candidates from both ruling and opposition parties and their families surfaced, but President Moon only pretends to investigate while actually avoiding key issues or postponing them into political debates, thereby conducting a political conspiracy investigation that is leading the election into a foggy state."
He went on to say, "Each issue, such as the Daejang-dong corruption scandal, the accusation of report manipulation, and the Deutsche Motors case, are major incidents that can sway the presidential election," adding, "President Moon is holding these in his grasp, dragging them out while mocking candidates from both parties and giving the impression that he is leisurely enjoying himself alone."
