Collecting Frontline Police Officers' Opinions to Strengthen On-Site Police Response... Enhanced Management of 'Repeated Reports' Over 3 Times
'Police On-Site Response Enhancement TF' 3rd Meeting
Advisory Group of 50 Members... Participation in Joint Meetings
Strengthening Inspection System for Reports of Daily Life Inconveniences such as Interfloor Noise
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The police are forming and operating an advisory group composed of on-site police officers to gather opinions for strengthening on-site response capabilities.
According to the National Police Agency on the 30th, the 'Police On-Site Response Enhancement TF' held its third meeting on the same day and discussed ▲ operation of the on-site police advisory group ▲ measures to strengthen inspection of repeated report cases, among other topics.
First, to reflect the voices from the field in the TF operations, they plan to operate an advisory group consisting of about 50 on-site police officers. The advisory group will collect opinions through regular and ad hoc meetings and participate directly in the TF through joint meetings when necessary.
The police also decided to strengthen the command of city and provincial police agencies for cases reported three or more times and to enhance the inspection system by expanding it to include complaints about daily life inconveniences such as noise between floors.
Following controversies over inadequate responses in incidents such as the Incheon floor noise stabbing and the stalking murder case in Jung-gu, Seoul, the police formed a separate TF to seek measures to strengthen on-site response capabilities.
The police are currently conducting live-fire training with taser guns and special training for new officers, while improving emergency response systems that can occur regularly on-site, such as the 112 coaching and support system and improvements in personal protection methods.
