"Abuse of Litigation Unfair"... Former Animal Rights Group Leader Park Soyeon Sued
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Park So-yeon, the former head of the animal rights organization 'CARE,' which sparked controversy over the euthanasia of rescued animals, has been reported to the police.
The Victims' Association Against Abuse of Prosecution held a press conference in front of the Seoul Central District Court on the 29th, stating, "After Park, the former head, committed criminal acts that caused public outrage and then posted comments, she filed high-value collective planned lawsuits," and reported Park to the Seocho Police Station in Seoul on charges of extortion and unjust enrichment.
They claimed that immediately after the euthanasia incident of abandoned dogs surfaced, Park's side initiated planned lawsuits against people who commented on her articles and demanded compensation. They added, "Most of the court rulings since 2020 either found no obligation to pay compensation or ordered payment of 100,000 won," and "Park filed lawsuits with the purpose of profiting from settlement money."
