"I hope that neighbors in need can stay warm." With this single phrase, she donated 30 million won and then quietly disappeared.
The responsible official asked her to at least provide her name so they could express their gratitude, but she only left a brief reply saying she came after hearing about Seongbuk-gu's '2022 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Fundraising Campaign' that has been ongoing since November 15, expressing her wish that "neighbors in need have a warm winter."
Upon hearing the news, Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, said, "In the midst of the severe spread of COVID-19 and the onset of a harsh cold wave, I want to express my sincere thanks and respect to the anonymous angel who generously extended a helping hand to the marginalized groups enduring even tougher days." He added, "The news of this angel not only brings comfort and warmth to the residents of Seongbuk-gu who are doing their best on the harsh frontlines of livelihood every day but also raises awareness and interest in neighbors in need."
Seongbuk-gu has been conducting the '2022 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Fundraising Campaign' from November 15 through February 14, 2022. Donated goods are immediately distributed to vulnerable groups, and the funds will be used throughout 2022 to support emergency living expenses, medical costs, housing expenses, and more for low-income vulnerable groups within Seongbuk-gu.

Through the '2021 Hope Ondol Warm Winter' campaign, Seongbuk-gu raised a total of 1.466 billion won (310 million won in cash donations and 1.155 billion won in goods). Of the total amount raised, 310 million won in cash donations was used throughout 2021 to support living, medical, educational, and housing expenses for 502 low-income vulnerable households.
