Seoul Sets New Record Again for COVID-19 Cases... 1,888 New Infections in a Day

On the 26th, the number of new daily COVID-19 cases in Seoul was reported as 1,888 by the Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) on the 27th.
This is an increase of 128 cases from the 1,760 recorded on the 24th, surpassing the previous daily record again in just two days. This is the third time this week that the highest daily record has been broken.
Compared to the previous day (the 25th) with 1,742 cases, it increased by 146, and compared to a week ago (the 19th) with 1,372 cases, it is 516 cases higher.
There were 1,881 domestic infections and 7 imported cases.
The daily number of confirmed cases in Seoul surged from the 400-700 range in the last week of last month to 1,004 on the 2nd of this month. Since then, the numbers have risen stepwise: 1,436 on the 16th, 1,734 on the 23rd, 1,760 on the 24th, and 1,888 on the 26th. Within less than a month after the phased recovery to normal life (With Corona), the record for the highest daily cases has been broken four times.
Especially this week, the record has been broken almost daily, showing an increasingly rapid spread.
