Gwangju Seobu Fire Station "119 Reports Possible via Text, App, and Video Call"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Western Fire Station (Chief Yang Young-gyu) announced on the 26th that it is providing guidance on the '119 Multi-Channel Reporting Service,' which allows reporting via text, app, and video calls in situations where voice calls are difficult.
This reporting service enables anyone to report to 119 not only through voice calls but also by using text messages, apps, and video calls. It has the advantage of allowing reports even in cases where voice calls are difficult, such as for the hearing impaired or foreigners.
The reporting service can be used by ▲sending a text message with attached videos or photos to 119 ▲downloading the Fire Department's '119 Report' app, selecting the relevant report content, and tapping the send button ▲dialing the 119 number and then tapping the video call or FaceTime button.
A fire station official stated, “Since disasters can occur unexpectedly in various forms, we will do our best to promote the 119 Multi-Channel Reporting Service so that citizens can send distress signals in any situation.”
