Swieotdaga-gil was created through the environmental campaign ‘Cup a Tree,’ launched in April this year to commemorate Starbucks’ 22nd anniversary in Korea. The campaign aimed to expand the forest area by one pyeong for every 10 participating customers, targeting a maximum of 220 pyeong of forest.
Customers who participated in the campaign engaged in eco-friendly activities in a non-face-to-face manner by planting plants using reusable cups, posting photos on SNS showing the harmony between reusable cups and surrounding plants, and delivering eco-friendly messages.
During the campaign period, about 4,700 citizens participated, gathering more than twice the expected support, which expanded the total forest area to 300 pyeong.
Since the 5th of last month, about 100 Starbucks partners have participated in relay volunteer activities at Swieotdaga-gil in Seoul Forest Park, planting 11,913 flowering plants and 647 shrubs to date.
Additionally, to commemorate the opening of Swieotdaga-gil, over 30 Starbucks partners participated on the 3rd of this month in volunteer activities to improve the forest environment, planting 400 lily of the valley bulbs that will bloom in the coming spring and cleaning up fallen leaves.
