Husentec "Forgery of Corporate Seal, Additional Expert Verification... Evidence Submission"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Defense industry specialist company Husentec announced on the 25th that the corporate seal affixed to the bankruptcy application documents recently submitted to the court was confirmed to be forged.
Previously, Husentec filed a complaint with the Seoul Suseo Police Station against executives of H Private Equity and the CEO of J Company for fraud, forgery of private documents, and false entry in a notarized document, after they forged the corporate seal to draft a loan agreement worth 10.5 billion KRW.
The company stated that after revealing on the 5th that the corporate seal on the power of attorney was forged, “the corporate seal affixed to four other documents related to the bankruptcy application case (loan agreement, fund formation and consulting contract, receipt voucher, power of attorney) was also confirmed to be forged.”
According to the company, the key issues in the ongoing bankruptcy application case are the factual confirmation of the 10.5 billion KRW debt claim that J&HT claims to have lent to Husentec and not received repayment for, and Husentec’s ability to repay.
Husentec has already deposited 10.5 billion KRW with the court to prove its repayment ability. The fact that repayment ability has been demonstrated makes it highly likely that the bankruptcy application will be dismissed. However, Husentec has proceeded to verify the authenticity of the corporate seal impressions affixed to the loan agreement and other documents submitted by J&HT to prove that the debt claim itself is false.
Husentec explained, “To ensure the reliability of the appraisal, we commissioned multiple appraisal institutions, including a court-appointed agency specializing in appraisals for about 40 years and a professional institution composed only of appraisers who passed the ‘Appraiser Selection Committee’ conducted by the Supreme Court.”
The Central Seal and Handwriting Appraisal Institute responded, “After observing and comparing the seal impression status, seal composition and layout, size, outline, angles, spacing, and consistency, it is judged that the corporate seal used by Husentec and the seals affixed to the four documents are different impressions.”
The International Document Appraisal Institute also stated, “Through geometric analysis, superimposition tests, and microscopic feature examinations, precise comparisons revealed differences from the seal used by Husentec.”
A Husentec official said, “We will immediately submit the appraisal reports and related materials, which have been judged as forged, to the bankruptcy court and investigative agencies to clearly reveal the whole truth of this case and hold legal responsibility to the end.”
